Welcome to the online home of the Barbecue in the Park, an Iowa State Championship BBQ contest sponsored by the La Porte City Lions Club and sanctioned by the KCBS! Organizers of this event have been involved with KCBS competitions for several years, so they know what is necessary for a successful event.

Attentive Volunteers - volunteers assigned to specific teams will be available for meat inspections, trash removal, water, etc.

Awards - 100% Payout of entry fees (after KCBS sanctioning fees) PLUS Unique awards for top 5 finishers in each category, with ribbons awarded for 6th through 10th ($1000 Grand Prize, $500 Reserve, $275 for each category, 3rd Place receives auto entry for 2011).
